Oso, a hand-cast silver bear pendant

Albuquerque

Cast from scratch.

I make the molds. I cast them in investment plaster. I pour the silver, or the gold.

See Oso

I’m trying to make a name for myself. There’s something about working with silver and gold. I just feel fulfilled.

How a piece gets made

  1. 01

    The mold

I make it. The shape is mine before the fire ever sees it.

  2. 02

    The plaster

Investment plaster. It holds the piece, then gives the metal a place to go.

  3. 03

    The pour

Silver or gold. I cast it, break it out, and finish it by hand.
